Teaching Contemporary, Jazz, Modern
Chelsea is a Christian artist who believes in reaching the world through the captivating form of the arts. With 29 years of dance experience, she has training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Pointe, Flamenco, and Contemporary styles of dance. After graduating high school, Chelsea auditioned and was accepted into a dance program called Remnant Dance Co in Tampa, Florida, under the direction of Derek and Cami Capps. During this 10-month program, Chelsea had daily training in Jazz and Modern styles, had many teaching opportunities, administrative training, and numerous performance opportunities within the city of Tampa including performances opening up for motivational speaker/pastor Paula White. Her time with Remnant Dance Co included a dance missions trip to the Philippines where she performed, taught classes and judged a dance competition. Chelsea was also accepted into the Ingredients Dance Training Company in Dallas, Texas, under the direction of Michelle Brogan. Here she trained daily in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Contemporary. She had many performance opportunities in the metropolis of Dallas, as well as traveling on a nationwide tour with Christian dance convention, Dance Revolution-where she performed, assisted classes and performed administrative duties. Since then, Chelsea has continued training and has been teaching and choreographing locally, including her time on staff as an adjunct professor teaching and choreographing within the Modern and Jazz Class at Hagerstown Community College. Chelsea was also the director of Gateway Ministries Church’s dance ministry, 3rd Day Anointing, where she led, choreographed, and taught for 11 years. In the fall of 2010, Chelsea started Neshema Dance Company, a professional, Christian dance company for dancers who desire to take their dance to a new level technically and artistically, while growing closer to God through their art, and challenging them to be all God has called them to be!
In 2011, Chelsea started Bloom Dance Studio which began in Hagerstown, Maryland as one of the area’s first Christian dance studios. Over time, Chelsea hosted and directed many summer and winter intensives at both Gateway Ministries Church and Bloom Dance Studio, such as Re-kre'at Dance Intensive. Now over a decade later, Bloom continues to grow and has relocated to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. But regardless of where her studio’s address is, Chelsea passionately aims to lead her team through received creativity and unparalleled inspiration from the Author of dance, and she continues to move forward to bloom where she has been planted.
