Costumes:

As costumes start to come in we will have your dancers try them on in their classes to make sure there are no sizing issues. We will not send the costumes home with your dancer until mid-late April giving all the costumes time to arrive (There are some costumes not even scheduled to ship until late April/early May due to high volume of orders). Once all of the costumes arrive myself (Miss Chelsea) as well as a few volunteers take a day to label a free garment bag you will receive with your dancers name, hang up each costume and then fill your dancer’s bag with their costumes. The teachers will then hand out your dancer’s garment bags throughout a specific week. Once the costumes are home, please keep the garment bags in a safe, dry location to keep out of harm’s way. Below is a list of any additional items you will need to provide for your dancer’s costume for the Recital. Please note we have also included your dancer’s Recital song so they can be practicing at home!

**Tights tip** DO NOT have your dancer wear their new dance tights until the day of the Recital to avoid any rips and tears in the new tights. Make sure you buy a backup pair of “Recital” tights to have on hand for a worst case scenario.

Makeup:

We do not have a set makeup look for our dancers, we leave the amount of the makeup applied to whatever the parents are comfortable with doing. We do recommend all ladies to wear foundation, blush, mascara and Pink or Red lipstick. The stage lights will be bright so an exaggerated makeup look will look “normal” from on stage.

Parent Volunteers:

Dressing Room (Moms Only)-If you are available and willing to help out back stage during one of the shows, we would GLADLY accept your offer to help! With the studio being much larger than last year we will require more help behind the scenes to help make all of the shows stress-less and smooth. You would be helping our younger dancers get dressed, fluff tutus, aid any hair needs and help keep the dressing room quiet. Please let Miss Chelsea know if you would like to help out!

Seating Attendants:  The job is easy! You would help direct our guests to their pre-purchased seats and answer any questions they may have. We would provide you with a diagram of the theater seating and you would help seat the guests from 3:30-4:00pm. Please let Miss Chelsea know if you would like to help out!

Attendance:

As we are adding onto and cleaning the Recital dances each week from now until June, your dancer’s attendance is very important. Please do you r best to be at every class. We encourage dancers to bring video cameras into class to record their dances if it will help them remember as they practice at home. During Recital Week rehearsals attendance is MANDATORY for the dancer to participate in the Recital. These last rehearsals are vital for tying everything together and putting the last touches on the dances. We appreciate YOU (parents and guardians) for all of your hard work during this busy time of the year! Thank you!

Please let us know if you have any questions! We are looking forward to a great Recital season this year and the best show yet!
